This course includes all the fundamentals that a competent 4WD operator needs to know, including vehicle capability and limitations, low range operation, terrain assessment, recovery awareness and safe convoy procedures.
Participants will develop practical skills in obstacle negotiation such as hill climbs and descents, ruts, water crossings and sand driving, while applying correct throttle control, line selection and vehicle positioning techniques.
Operator safety, trip planning and environmental responsibility are embedded throughout the training, with content customised to the participant’s vehicle type, intended operating environment and real-world conditions.
